SCENES FROM JAPAN

This is where I will put various pictures about Tokyo up. As always, right click and press "View" to see a larger image.

Fun And Games

Most of the games here are the same as in North America, although Japan is much more fond of "grabber" games, the kind where you use a crane to pick things up. I've won a few things in these games. A clock, a toy dog, and a big Gundam model (which I still haven't put together). This had to be the strangest one, however. Win a Live Crab!
Fun And Games 2

...or a Live Fish!
Strange Cars

Here is one of the many unusual cars I've seen in Japan. I'll put more up here in the future.
Driving to the Beat of a Different Drummer

This truck has a couple of drummers in the back, part of some festival or another that was happening. Unfortunately, I have no idea what it was about. But it involved carrying something big.
Party Time!

This is what they are partying about. Some kind of big heavy shrine like thingy that is being carried by a dozen people. Forgive my ignorance on the matter.
Wall of Lanterns

This is also part of the same festivities. If you look closely (or look at a larger version of the picture) you will see a "JR" on the lower left hand lanterns. That's because this is right beside the JR (Japan Rail) station. I figure they helped pay for it.
Shinjuku By Day

This was taken from the 26th floor of a building I teach English lessons at. About dead center, you can see Yodibashi Camera, or as I like to call it, electronic dream land.
Shinjuku By Night

This picture was taken from the same floor in the same direction.
On The Subway

Subway... Train... what's the difference? In Tokyo, you'd be hard pressed to find one. Some subways end up above ground, and some trains go below ground. Anyway, for the better part of one year, this was how I spent my life. One hour to work, and one hour back.
How I Spent My Time On The Train

With my trusty PSION! Either reading books or writing stories, this is what I spent most of my commuting time doing. This is an upgraded model from the one I took across Canada, and until they come out with something better, it is what I will stick with for my personal writing and information needs.
Tokyo Tower

The tallest structure in all Japan, or so I'm told. This is a mighty tall tower, fashioned after the Eiffel Tower, it would seem. However, inside, it hides a dark secret...
What the hell is this????

Yeah, right, that's the mascot for Tokyo Tower??? A big, pink... ewwww. Come one, don't tell me whoever created that mascot wasn't laughing his ass off! I could make a number of jokes with regards to the kid it is patting on the head, but I'll let your own sick minds do that for you.
Me

Well, you saw this at the begining, but I figured I should include it again. Since I'm just so darn handsome.
